'Mars, Une Exploration Photographique' is a visual exploration book published by Xavier Barral and Sébastien Girard, with texts from Xavier Barral, astrophysicist Francis Rocard and planetary professor Alfred McEwen, detailed captions from planetologist & geophysicist Nicolas Mangold as well as a Mars planisphere in order to give us the keys of interpretation and to put in context those enigmatical pictures.

'This document has been created from observations of NASA’s MRO probe equipped with the HiRISE camera and put into orbit at an average distance of 300 km from Mars. Each record covers a zone of six kilometers wide and reveals with an unprecedented resolution an unsuspected landscape that has been mainly shaped by wind for more than three billion years. Terrestrial audio recordings' (Excerpt from the short film by Xavier Barral and Valéry Faidherbe | source : Vimeo).
