shot between 2002-2007, japanese-born photographer KENRO IZU's series 'BHUTAN sacred within' was his first attempt at portraiture, inspired by Bhutan's national ideology, 'Gross National Happiness', and the population's selflessness. IZU has also documented other holy sites in Syria, Jordan, England, Scotland, Mexico, and Easter Island and has most recently focused on Buddhist and Hindu sites in India, Cambodia, Burma, Vietnam, Indonesia, and China.
