GUIDI POP-UP STORE OPENING TOMORROW, HOSTED BY DARKLANDS BERLIN

SOME/THINGS STOCKIST DARKLANDS will be hosting the first ever GUIDI pop-up store.

One of the oldest tanneries in Italy, GUIDI was founded in 1896 by Guido Guidi, Giovanni Rosellini, and Gino Ulivo. Still one of the highest-quality leather suppliers in the world, GUIDI's own production line is headed by Ruggero Guidi and includes shoes, bags, and accessories.

Launching tomorrow, Thursday July 4th, from 6-11pm, the vernissage will feature a large installation by GUIDI and music by Function. Located at Heidestrasse 46 - 52, Gebäude 7, in Berlin, the store will remain open for the next six months, during regular DARKLANDS trading hours.

Following an exclusive feature on the GUIDI leather tannery for SOME/THINGS MAGAZINE CHAPTER005, in 2012, SOME/THINGS AGENCY was commissioned to conceptualise and produce the GUIDI COMMUNITY PROJECT, providing insight into the lives of GUIDI’s customers.

Photographed in the homes, workplaces, and favourite locations of leading figures in industries such as music, finance, science, technology, medicine, architecture, and cuisine, the GUIDI COMMUNITY PROJECT included acclaimed casting director FRANCINE MAISLER [THE USUAL SUSPECTS, TREE OF LIFE, and THE FIFTH ELEMENT], renowned music producer AKIHISA MATZURA, and HIROYUKI MURAKAMI of TOYOTA'S PARTNER ROBOT DIVISION— A SPECIALISED VENTURE BY TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION, WHICH DEVELOPS INVENTIONS FOR MEDICAL, WELFARE, MOBILITY, LIFE, AND WORK SUPPORT.
