HORSEBACK RIDING AT THE HACIENDA DE SAN ANTONIO IN MEXICO
DURING THE HOLIDAY PERIOD, THE SOME/THINGS TEAM WAS KINDLY INVITED TO DISCOVER THE WONDERFUL CUIXMALA & HACIENDA DE SAN ANTONIO ESTATES IN MEXICO.
the HACIENDA was originally established as a coffee producer by Don Arnoldo Vogel in 1879. It was later purchased in the 1970's by Don Antenor Patiño, before British financer Sir James Goldsmith acquired the estate a decade later. Under the Goldsmith family, the HACIENDA was restored by French designer Robert Couturier with Goldsmith's daughter, Alix Marcaccini, and designer Armand Aubery decorating the interior. The family home was first opened as a resort in 2000.
The two storey property lies on a 470 acre expanse within a 5,000 acre working ranch, organic farm, stables, coffee plantation, and cheese making factory. The HACIENDA DE SAN ANTONIO is dedicated to conservation, sustainability, and supporting the local community, encouraging self-sustaining systems using local and renewable resources. Furthermore, 85% of the staff and workers are from nearby villages. In addition to tours, the hotel offers various activities, including nature walks, hiking trips to the nearby volcano, birdwatching, and horseback riding.
/ We would like to thank Alix and Goffredo Marcaccini, Efrén and Maria Campos, and everyone at the HACIENDA DE SAN ANTONIO for their unparalleled hospitality. INSTAGRAM IMAGES BY MONIKA BIELSKYTE.
