It doesn't quite seem fair to label Some/Things as merely a magazine. It's hand bound, hand finished, high quality pages appear more like a beautifully constructed book than anything else, or perhaps a work of art.



Released twice a year, Some/Things magazine is full to the brim of inspiration for any creative, since the content intersects the fields of art and culture as well as fashion. However, despite the diversity of the content and the people who contribute, the whole magazine offers a surprising level of coherency. It seems the entire Some/Things team are attuned to the classic, yet ultra modern aesthetic and direction that they offer amidst their pages.



This issue - that happened to land on my doorstep this morning - contains an in-depth conversation with Yohji Yamamoto featuring some of the most beautiful photography I have ever seen. What is unique about this magazine, amongst many things, is that they are not afraid to dedicate a double page spread to one image - which they happen to do more often than not - or twenty pages to a single interview. The impression is that when it comes to their content, they will use as many words and pictures as is necessary to capture the story, allowing each article to reach insightful new depths.



Costing around £50 a copy, Some/Things is somewhat of an investment but unlike some of the publications you subscribe to monthly; these are not throw away magazines. The content is current and relevant, but is also timeless meaning you are still likely to find inspiration in it's pages when you thumb through them this time next year. As I said, a copy of Some/Things magazine is more like a coffee table book that will capture everyone's attention no matter what their interests and will continue to inspire for years to come.
