Founded In 1893 by Théophile Bader and Alphonse Kahn, galeries lafayette originally occupied a small space on the corner of rue La Fayette and the Chaussée d’Antin, in Paris. Now, The 10-storey flagship store, located at 40 boulevard Haussmann, is regarded as one of the best shopping complexes in the world. 2012 marked the 100th anniversary of Galeries Lafayette’s renowned neo-Byzantine glass dome by Ferdinand Chanut, which was commemorated with a series of events late last year.
